review 1: I was lucky enough to hear Liz Jasper read from her book at the Sisters in Crime Showcase. I was intrigued by the concept and got the books. I have just finished Underdead, the first in the series, and LOVED it. It has a fresh take on the old classic vampire novel, with enough humor without getting silly. I highly recommend this series! I am very hesitant to give 5 stars for reviews, but I enjoyed every aspect of this story, so it gets a 5. I can't wait to get started on book 2 now.
review 2: My friend left her e-reader at our house after a party and while snooping I found the Underdead series. I'll admit I was a little hesitant wondering how on earth a middle school teacher be entertaining but man was I wrong. I completely fell in love with Jo who was o... moreblivious to her own appeal, a science geek and a stress baker. She was quirky without being over the top and I found myself giggling and laughing during this book enough that my husband gave me a weird look as he was walking past the living room. I read the first book straight through and it was totally worth the pins and needles in my arms and legs when I finally stood up. I cannot wait for the 3rd book. less
