review 1: This would have been a 3 star but I'm so angry with it that its lucky I didn't vote 1 star.I was enjoying it. I thought I knew where the plot was headed and I was hoping that it wouldn't. I was so pleased when I thought I was wrong and I got to 97% waiting for the HEA to be all nicely wrapped up in the Epilogue. But no. It went there. Literally on the last page. So there's a second book which I wont read. If you're reading it and have an inkling of what the twist is you are probably right.
review 2: LK Collins sends her readers down an emotional roller coaster in Every Soul. With both Bain, and Arion suffering from broken hearts due to tragic events in their life that rock their worlds. Having been given bad hands in the game of life, Bain and Arion find solace
... more in one another.Bain has placed his life on hold when his twin sister takes matters into her own hands and ends her life. For whatever reason, when the police find her body - in an abandoned garage in her car - Bain refuses to accept that she ended her life on her own; he is bound and determined to figure out why she chose to end her life, or who had made her end her life. With that being said, he turns to pills to ease the pain that has encased his life.Arion turns to sex to ease her pain. She has a rule; no spending the night, no real commitment. She turns from man to man, bed to bed, on a nightly basis to find some sort of release in her destroyed life. Losing one's fiance to a war is not the way that one wants to spend their days. She can't stand the possibility of losing someone that close to her again. So, she drinks and sleeps with multiple men throughout the book. When Bain and Arion meet for the first time - in the bar across from one another - the universe changes for them. Instead of Arion looking for her next lay, she begins looking forward to seeing Bain, and spending quality time with him. She wants to know him, but she's scared, and she's worried. Worried that she has fallen in love with Bain, she continues on her road to recovery with him.Arion, and Bain begin their long slow road to recovery together. From seeing each other across the bar, and turning into a no feelings relationship, to intimate passionate sex that saves the both of them from themselves. Everyone around them from family members to friends see the change in the both of them. Do they continue on this road to recovery with one another? Or do they go back to their bad habits that were destroying their lives? This book left me emotionally unstable for a few days. Not even going to lie! LK Collins brought Bain and Arion into your life, and they weren't just characters in a book - they were your friends. You suffered with them, you loved with them, you felt heartbroken with them - you didn't just read the book, you felt every single emotion with them. If you need a book to ugly cry to, this is it. I look forward to visiting Bain and Arion in the near future when I get the chance to read this book over again.I will warn you of this - be prepared for the ending! Do not throw your e-reader or the paperback when you finish reading. A job well done to LK Collins, this is one book that I will recommend over, and over to friends. Looking forward to the next book in the series! less
