review 1: This novel had me neither in stitches nor in tears. Mainly because there were just too many storylines and characters (especially romantic interests!) for me to really get attached to any of them. Except for Bradley - LOVED that man :D There would have been tons of interesting relationships and social matters to explore and in my opinion Spielman just tried to fit too much into this story. Also, a lot of things just went waay too smoothly - even for fiction. I definitely could have been spared the epilogue. The last chapter was sugar-coated enough, didn't really need that cherry on top. Still, I devoured the (audio)book in one day and I guess that's not the worst sign. This "life list" thing has been done countless times in books and I wouldn't rank this example among the ... morebest but it serves as mellow entertainment on a cozy day in your reading corner.
review 2: Ein wirklich tolles Buch! Ich habe mich in die Charaktere verliebt und konnte es in keiner Sekunde aus den Händen nehmen, dennoch war ich vom Ende, obwohl es wirklich hervorragend ist ein wenig enttäuscht. Die Botschaft des Buchs ist bezaubernd, auch wenn es inhaltlich eher unrealistisch ist. Teilweise fehlen gegen Ende einige Erklärungen, auf die ich nicht weiter eingehen möchte, um nicht zu spoilern. Ich habe es aber nicht übers Herz gebracht das Buch mit 4 Sternen zu bewerten. Daher 5 Sterne und eine Empfehlung! less
