It turns out the fight of his life may be to claim his mate, not fighting his enemies.My Thoughts:It always annoys me when an author makes a big deal about how independent and strong a female character is and how all the other characters recognize that in them but then never show that side of the character to the readers. I kept reading about how independent Kendall was, but in reality she always just went along with whatever (and whenever) Dagger said. The other thing that ticked me off was the ridiculous timing for the sex scenes....uh oh, the Earth ambassador is lying about having seen my best friend and I have a really bad feeling about him and what he is planning...gosh lets have sex!...uh oh the mate of one of my best friends has just been taken captive by the bad guys and she is devistated and planning on going after him all by herself...gosh, lets have sex! When sex scenes are so forced into the plot, it becomes painful to read....
review 2: Second in the series. We've been invaded by the Delroi. They need our women and are willing to help heal Earth; it has been ravaged by internal wars and pollution. We also have an abundance of women after the prolonged wars.In the first book Sgt Major Laney Bradford becomes the der'lan of Alrik Torfa, 2nd in charge of the warrior clan. Laney is heavily pregnant and her friend Colonel Dr Kendall Marks comes to Delroi to assist with the birth. She meets Daggar Torfa, Alrik's brother and Overchief of the Clan and her der'lan.The rebels want to overthrow the Earth govt and grab as many women as they can but have convinced Earth's authorities they just want to overtake their own govt and leave Earth alone. So interplanetary politics, rebellions and explosions are the order of the day. All set against a consensual BDSM scenario between Daggar and Kendall.Love the tight writing of Loribelle Hunt. Always willing to read anything she's written. less
