review 1: The writing style was good, but it didn't do much to propel the story and I felt that this novel dragged on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. The newsroom/government spin/post-911/conspiracy story/political thriller plot was never one that interested me, but I'd thought I'd expand my reading horizons. Maybe people who like those types of plots would enjoy this more than I did. However, this book really waffled on which of the above plots it wanted to be, so I found it a bit muddled throughout. I probably should have read her first book before picking this one up; I can't really tell if this was a sophomore slump or if this is her writing style, either way, I have no desire to read more by this author.
review 2: This book felt di
... moresjointed from the very beginning. A lot of little stories that never really connected or flowed. Some of the character development was unbelievable. The author went out of the way in some cases and reached to far in others. The reader is never given the satisfaction of a coherent completion to the various story lines. The ending was awful and all in all the book was very unfulfilling! less
