review 1: This was certainly an interesting experiment of a book - and while it was possible to read this in a single sitting (as I did) I'm wondering if I would be better off reading it again, but only reading one or two stories a day. This is because each entry is a very brief yet very intense glimpse into a whole little world that's hard to shake off - especially when you delve back into another one. It's like walking down a very long corridor of rooms and just taking a quick peek behind each door.
review 2: These stories are like peepholes, like vignettes you want to jump into. Lou Beach is a writer who knows just what to leave out. Every tiny story results in far more questions than answers for the reader. Beach's background as an illustrator is no surprise given the
... more incredibly rich imagery and texture here. I love these little gems (sure, some more than others), and often read them for quick inspiration before sitting down to write. less

I enjoyed the concept more than the book itself. Interesting idea.
