review 1: Somehow I read book one and book three in this series and totally missed out on book two. I’ll admit I was originally drawn to these books because of the covers; they’ve got some sexy models heating up the kitchen but I stayed around for the fun, sexy stories within. There is an overarching story line between the three stories so I felt I did miss a little bit of the story by not reading book two, but not enough to take away from my enjoyment of book three. As we continue with the Rising Star chef competition we finally get to see more of Henry Beck who’s been the silent and strong addition to the east coast team. His past with Skye, the team leader for the west coast team, comes to the forefront when these two talented chefs are put to the test. Will they be able to... more move forward or will their pasts follow them in to the future? This was a great reunion story. A couple who fell in love when they were young but not quite able to deal with the blows that life handed them, reevaluating what brought them together originally and what will carry them forward. Real good conclusion to the series. Fun read!
review 2: Loved loved loved Henry Beck's story! I adored the others, but this beat them by far. He was so...scarred, frightened and wonderful. I loved him. I cried for him. I suffered with him.Skye was wonderful too. She was sweet, vulnerable, pained. I felt for her. My heart broke when she talked about the baby she lost. I'm in love with the main characters. Claire and Kale's story I didn't give much for. If it wasn't for that story I could've given it five stars. I don't know why I had so much trouble with it, but it was my least favorite part in all of the books. So yeah, loved it. The main story that is. Loved her, but the story would have been weak without Beck. He made the story. And it was for him I read it. less
