review 1: This book deserves the plaudits on the cover. Lucy Cruikshanks has produced a story that captures vividly the aftermath of the war in Vietnam. Each character is strongly developed and believable and the smells, sounds and sights of Hanoi and Saigon are really brought to life. The ending is satisying in its incompleteness. Maybe room for a sequel? Highly receommended. I won this book from Goodreads.
review 2: @LJCruickshanks ‘The Trader of Saigon’ is a fascinating read that draws three disparate characters’ lives together in an unexpected way. As you read, Vietnam comes to life in your head, and as you follow their journey the true horror of human trafficking fully hits you. Highly recommended. I read it in virtually one sitting, and will look forward to
... moreLucy’s next book. It will appeal across a broad spectrum of people, and is a great addition to my growing library of books on Vietnam during the 20th Century. less

This was a disappointing book…..the main characters were not believable and the writing amateur.
