review 1: I am a huge chick-lit fan. In most chick-lit stories, you know who is going to end up with whom, and I always look for the original twists or humourous moments to enjoy the book. Summer with My Sister was lacking in these qualities. I found this book to be an extremely predictable plot with no laugh out loud moments or any special twist to make Lucy Diamond's tale an original one. The plot dragged on for almost 200 pages before it even started to get going. I probably would've enjoyed it a lot more if it was shortened to 200 pages, versus 450.
review 2: I'm so glad that I picked this book up- I really felt like a nice comforting read. I loved this one from the start. Polly wasn't a likeable character to start with- but she was really interesting! She's a h... moreigh flyer who gets made redundant and loses her high risk investments and her London Pad. She's forced to move back in with her family over the summer. She resists family life for a while- but is gradually drawn into their lives. less
