review 2: Lucy Dillon writes incredible stories, and this one was as good as her last. I usually find "chick Lit" too light and fluffy, but not so with this author. Her characters are very complex and multi-faceted. Lucy also vividly creates great human/dog relationships. There are multi-layers in her relationships, and several main characters that weave together. She jumps back and forth in time a little, but always in a seamless way. Her books do tend to start a little slowly, but that is because you see the characters as rather one dimensional in the beginning, and then as they start to grow and mature, they become more interesting and complex. Just about every human experience happens to someone at sometimes in her stories. They are really great novels. I realized that she has the same knack for portraying human complexities as Rosamunde Pilcher. From me that is a compliment indeed. less

Slightly predictable but never the less enjoyable, no need to stretch the brain read.

I liked part of this book, however, I got a bit bored with it. Good ending.
