review 1: This book was a book of surprises for me. The way it started out with the divorce, weaving that with the story of the young all encompassing love, flipping back and forth between the painful "now" of recent divorce with Gina trying to get her new single life together and succeeding, compared to that first tragic love. This was a book of high drama and it succeeds well at that. Overall it was not a book I enjoyed because of it's high drama, even at the end when you expect it to all wind down happily... it doesn't! A book of surprises.
review 2: A pleasant story about one woman's life, her first love, her losses, her fight against cancer, the loss of her first marriage; through all the pain of a divorce, moving, sorting her old life out of boxes and keepin... moreg only what fits for a fresh start. Gina is finally able to let go of pieces of her old life, the pain of losing her first love, the loss of her stepfather, finding forgiveness for herself, others and repairing a floundering relationship with her mother. She comes out clean and fresh with hope for the future, an appreciation of the moment and the NOW that she will miss if she doesn't stop to enjoy it. A good life lesson for us all. Stop, smell the roses, notice the people and the nature around you and live it! less
