review 1: Luisa has this way of waxing rhapsodic when it comes to food. She can write for a whole page about lemons and you are glued to her every word. The recipes are excellent, but she also just a damn good writer and that's what keeps me coming back. I think everyone can relate to her descriptions of homesickness, even if you didn't grow up moving between three countries. Oh, and her acknowledgments even made me cry. Pick this one up; you won't regret it.
review 2: The writing wasn't very tight, and there were a handful of typos, which I always find very distracting, yet I truly enjoyed this book. The author's search for her place in the world resonated very deeply with me, and her descriptions of Berlin made me want to pack up and move there ASAP. I haven't tri... moreed to make any of the recipes in the book, so I can't speak to their deliciousness or ease. They sounded rather tasty when I read through them, though. less
