review 1: Another good story. Lydia Dare is able to put a slightly different spin on a story that could be repetitious. After all, this is the 7th of the group. However, this one involved a very old vampyre, saved from dying in the Crusades Matthew is a Knight in the true sense of the word. His very being is honorable and he is NOT like the dilute "gentlemen" so frequently written about in the historical romance genre.This story is also about the friendship and comradery between those who have similar experiences in common.I'm ready for the next one...
review 2: In the Heat of the Bite is one of Ms. Dare's best books to date. This is Rhiannon and Matthew's story. Matt's a 650 year old vamp, trying to train his newest prodigy when he meets up with an unexpected stor... morem. Rhi is one of the five witches, weather-born, and in the middle of a teen created storm when she meets the Earl of Blodswell for the first time. The two fall together with the help of fellow witch Cait and a few Lycan scoundrels. I really enjoyed reading this story, finding out what happened to Alec, and seeing love beat the odds for the gallant knight of old. Great read. less
