review 1: I never read blurbs or reviews I actually picked this title up to rectify my Bait hangover that M. Mabie left me in; I went in blind… in hindsight that is amusing to me. The heroine in the story is losing her sight and must learn to simplify, and to do that her ophthalmologist agrees with her suggestion that she hires a personal assistant for her life.Tatum is a comedic writer for a television show along with her best friend who is marrying her brother. Her life is pretty freaking amazing with the exception of this sight impediment. She is hilarious, stubborn, sarcastic, inappropriate, witty, and albeit insecure just as much as she was secure. So she didn’t need a hero, what she needed was a companion. That is exactly what Ben Harris, the personal assistant Tatum hired... more on the spot was, along with being gorgeous, intelligent, thoughtful, and so many other things. Now don’t think everything is so cookie cutter and perfect, M. Mabie gives plenty of angst in this humor and sexy filled novel, between trying to determine the mystery behind Ben’s arrival and how everything will play out of Tatum in the end, has you on your toes and fumbling around your own drawn conclusions. I laughed aloud, I cried, and my heart felt for these characters as I lived with them through the story.M. Mabie has a way of captivating you from the first sentence, pulling you in, and making you a part of the story opposed to being on the outside as just a reader. I felt the feelings Tatum felt, I saw the things the way Tatum saw them, and THAT makes an amazing story and a fantastic author!
