Not only was this book on my most anticipated reads for the year, but I also got really lucky when I actually won (for the first time!) one of those giveaways that Goodreads was hosting for this book. Let me tell you, book mail from a publishing house is really exciting to get! Anyway, after all the excitement tapered down, I realized that last year I didn’t really like book 2, and I was hoping that that wouldn’t be the case with book 3. And it wasn’t, at all.
The dark cloud that seemed to have followed all three of our leading ladies in Lost in Love, had finally dissipated and the original characters that I had fallen in love with in City Love were back. Sadie was still in her city love bliss state. She was giving Austin another chance and she finally told the girls about what happened to her mom and the sister that she never knew. Darcy was dealing with working in ‘java hell’ and everything that her dad was putting her mom through. Plus she finally put whatever-his-name-was in his place for cheating on her and trying to use her to pay off his gambling debts. Plus there was that nice reunion with Jude. I’m with Sadie and Rosanna. Team Dude forever! And then there was Rosanna who was probably my favorite character in this novel. She finally started to be in control about what happened to her when she was a kid and she uses that to help one of her campers. Not to mention she realizes that D still has feelings for his ex and is perfectly okay with it when she ends things.
I think the only two problems that I had with this book were the fact that Sadie did give Austin another chance. I mean, I get that she fell for him really quickly and that they seem to have this connection. But how is she going to be able to trust him again? I mean, he did lie about being married. How do you move on from that? And then the other problem I had was that this book was just too short. I would have really loved to see the trio actually start the fall semester.
Final Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. A good conclusion to a lovely series. The characters really grew since the first book (and especially the second book). A cute and fluffy read that is its own warm fuzzy.
Bookshelf worthy? I’ve said it before, if I only had the shelf space I’d own all of Colasanti’s work. But hey, I’ll find the room for this giveaway copy!
