review 1: I truly liked this book and all its realistic characters with a dash of fiction dust on them. It made for a lovely story about how life is complicated and family is more complicated, but we make the best of what we have. I know what it is like to have relationships that you have done a million tiny compromises that one day you look around and wonder how you got where you are; so far from the person you thought you wanted to be.
review 2: I liked this book, even when I didn't always like the characters. They are all flawed in their own way, but that makes them all feel real, which is part of the appeal of this book. It's kind of predicable, but then not - you really don't know what Rosie will do. I knew what I wanted her to do, but then she seemed so set in ... moreher ways and set in her idea of how things should be, that you think she's going to settle. Just as she seems to have done her whole life. It really kept me guessing until the end, which I enjoyed. less
