review 1: This is the first book I have read by Madison and I really liked it. It was a little different from some of the other shifter books I have read. Meaning there was no mating between different species of shifters or humans. The werebear clan would go check on the bear packs and if they found some, they would be in serious trouble.Elaina was a young bear cub, rescued by Samson, a werewolf shifter, so because of this law he kept her hidden until she was 18 yrs old. She wasn't supposed to be shifting either but she did a few times anyway. Now she is in her mating fever, so she needs to go find her another bear shifter to mate with even though Samson doesn't think it is safe for her to leave so she basically escapes in the middle of the night and eventually runs into Cullen and... more Damon, alphas of another bear pack. So which one of the brothers does she mate with? And oh boy, it was a very hot mating scene too!! Who exactly is the clan and are they really to be feared?Like I said, I really enjoyed this book very much but I need more. I think this is the beginning of a series because we are left with some unanswered questions but overall it was really worth the read. I was gifted a copy of the book by the author for an honest review and there was no other compensation.
review 2: Hidden Clan of the Werebear by Madison JohnsThe writing is fun engaging and excitingThis novella is a nice intro to the Clan of the Werebear Series. Ms Johns set the stage for the next two books in the series. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of the lives of both the werebears and werewolves. We are introduced to several main characters, Elaina, Sampson, Liam, Cullen, Damon and the mysterious Clan of the Werebear. The story revolves around Elaina lost her early memories and having the mating fever. The sex scenes are dealt with in a caring and kind manner. This is not a read alone book. Many questions are raised, future conflict is strongly suggested and some unnamed mystery is yet to be solved. I look forward to the next book to answer the questions raised in this first of the series. less
