review 1: (Kindle freebie) I'm going to stick with this through to the end, but so far I'm not really getting into this. Lots of veering way from the story and a little crass in places. Some of the writing doesn't flow and it is taking away from the mystery for me. However, I am intrigued by the main plot and will stick with it until the end and normally I just stop books I'm not enjoying, so that says something about Agnes and Eleanor and their sleuthing adventures. Compelling ideas, and I love the idea of an older female detective duo, but too much crude humor and disjointed writing for my mystery tastes.
review 2: I think calling these ladies Grandma Mazur is unfair and "Murderer She Wrote" is downright boring. They are typical women in their 70s who haven't given up
... morethe ghost, which is what the author said she was interested in writing about and I believe she did so very successfully. Just a couple weeks in the boonies and you too may find yourself toting a pistol, but like the law says, please learn to do so properly. And being able to drive a Lexus and a Mustang doesn't mean you're in the city OR away from goons either. I loved this book. It reminded me of my Grandma (I'll d**n well make a road where I want one!) and the ladies of our area today (Don't bother visiting, we're all packin' heat boys!) of a certain age. You just gotta love them! less
