review 1: This book is great for anyone who likes Harlequin novels. Sayid and Chloe's tale is a little predictable since you know it will have a happy ending with it being a Harlequin novel, but it offers many twists along the way and makes you wonder if it will actually end up as a happy ending. I won't ruin any of it, but to say that it is worth the read at least once because of how much you see the characters grow together. I especially loved the epilogue and the last section of the chapter before that because it jumps forward in time in both cases to show how things progressed. This was actually my favorite part of the novel! I loved seeing how things are in the future with already being invested in the characters. It was something nice that not all author... mores do.
review 2: This book tells the story of Sayed, a king of Attar looking for his deceased brother’s child; Chloe’s nephew as the baby is the heir to the throne. He has no idea about the baby until he found the documents that revealed the identity of the Baby and that Chloe was the surrogate mum. Both Sayed’s brother and sister in law (who is Chloe’s stepsister) passed away due to accident and the custody of the baby should be with him instead of Chloe. Chloe, who initially thought of hiding Aden away as she worried that Sayed may think that the Baby is a threat to his position as King and may try to take him away for her. But Sayed, who is the second in line to the throne has never wanted to carried such responsibilities to his country and with his brother’s son, his position as the King to his country will only be a temporary and when the baby is all grown up, he will relinquish his position to his nephew. Chloe, the surrogate mum have comes to an agreement that she will be with the baby for 6 months and after that, she is off to whatever she wants to do. But after taking care of the Baby for so long, she decided that it is not likely that she will be able to leave him behind after the 6 months up and she told Sayed about her decision to stay. Sayed, who never thought he will be able to love someone ever again, agreed to her request with a condition; she have to marry him. Chloe, who is alone in the world wanted to be with her only family; Aden agreed with his condition. There is a similarity in the two main characters; both Sayed and Chloe have a past which makes them who they are today. Sayed, given his position as the second son, was raised by his uncle and his upbringing is based on military way and coupled with him being jailed and tortured, he is convinced that he is unable to love and commit himself. This book placed family and commitment to others as the main issues and it is interesting to see the way Chloe tear down Sayid’s wall of resistence to love. ;) less
