review 1: For some reason this lacked punch for me. The story was great, I loved the set-up and the plot but it was as if I never fully engaged with either character emotionally and I cannot pinpoint exactly why. MY's books are generally a big hit (A Royal World Apart for one) or a miss for me and unfortunately this one fell short of target. Won't stop be picking up her next offering though and I'm becoming partial to her cowboys too!
review 2: Zafar Nejem is on his way back to claim the throne of Al Sabah, when he is stopped in the desert and forced to rescue American heiress Analise Christensen from her kidnappers. Ana is engaged to the ruler of his neighboring kingdom and if news of her presence with Zafar in his kingdom gets out, war would likely erupt between the t
... morewo kingdoms. Somehow Zafar must conceal Ana's presence in his palace until he can figure out a way to return her to her fiancé safely; this will take some time. Ana is everything Zafar is not; she's polished, beautiful and urbane while Zafar has been living in the desert for 12 years. So Zafar enlists her help in turning him into a modern ruler but that only brings them into close proximity on a regular basis and the heat that sprung up between them in the desert threatens to combust with each new dance step, etiquette lesson, or suit fitting. Zafar is a tortured soul who fled into the desert following the deaths of his parents and for whom he feels responsible and Ana feels responsible for her mother's desertion when she was very little; when these two damaged souls meet, something's bound to happen.I really loved this book. Zafar was so controlled, never letting anyone near until he met and fell for Ana. Ana, herself, tried to please her father by agreeing to the engagement and she was going to find her own way once she met Zafar. I couldn't put the book down and it haunts me still. less

The best times in life are spend doing things you shouldn't do. Don't you agree?

I think I'm just not the type for the sheik romance.

Not as good as "Taken by the Pterodactyl"
