review 1: Loved this book. Carnac is a true villain. MF really skates the line with Toreth - at times he is pathetic and foolish, and you want to wring his neck, but other times he's such a sympathetic character. And what to say about Warrick...he's just the best and Toreth really, really does not deserve him. Yet those last few chapters, they really capture the heart of the relationship between these two men in an honest, emotional way without ever mentioning the word "love." Just brilliant.
review 2: Could not give this book any higher, wanted to give it a 3 But I couldn't because Toreth is once again a selfish bastard whom I have very little feeling toward. Warrick once again a worthless push over who I have no respect for. I keep hoping for a change in these two
... more, that Toreth would grow the fuck up and/or Warrick would grow a pair of balls but neither happened... Carnac was my favorite, I don't care what anyone says he was the only character who was real and said what needed to be said and I think him and Warrick should have hooked up. I may have had a liitle more love towards Warrick if he had. I hate to not read a series through so I will complete it and hope I don't want to throw my nook at the fucken wall in frustration (again) and pray that this next book in the series makes me chage my feelings towards these two dumb asses !! less
