review 1: Lately, I've been on a bit of a SciFi kick. And this one really fit the bill for me. The characters were great and most importantly, it didn't get lost in a spacey jumble that has your head spinning with a bunch of "WTF?" or "I'm confused". The world building seemed easy and fluid. I'm sure there's a lot more to understand about the universe she's writing about, but I feel like it will continue to expand in future novels. And I'm glad for that because this one is going on my shelf. I really wish, though, that Ari would have shown a few (specific)people in a couple of (specific)situations who was boss!
review 2: Enemy Within was a good book. Good characters, good setting, enough support and background activity to keep everything interesting. The actual scien... morece thrown in was a great plus, too. I liked everything, except how jumpy some of the transitions from one scene to another. The transitions from one event to the next might have benefited from being smoother in some areas. For me, the sudden jump from one state of happening to the next was confusing, but perhaps that was the intent. Overall an enjoyable read. less
