review 1: Another entry in the Texas K-9 series, this book finds Sagebrush cop Lee Calloway protecting a woman named “Heidi” who has amnesia from someone who may be trying to kill her. Amnesia is such a tired trope in romance novels, but here Heidi’s problem drives the plot: Lee believes that Heidi may know who’s behind the organized crime family that has set up shop in Sagebrush. There’s more suspense than romance here, but it’s a simple, fun read.
review 2: A look into the world of amnesia and the fears of remembering what your life may have been like. Do you really want to know your past? Lee and Heidi/Lucy get to experience this as Lee protects Heidi, as Jane Doe decides to have herself called after she finds the name Heidi on a locket. Some things make... more her scared to find her past because it could show that she is part of the crime syndicate hiding out in Sagebrush. Lee knows she can't be a criminal because of her loving ways though. As they unfold the mystery, their relationship grows.Margaret Daley was a great addition to this series. Enjoyed this story very much. less
