review 1: A fault on my part, but to be fair the was nothing on the book cover about Idols being a sequel to Icons, so bad move by the publishers. This meant I found it difficult to understand what was going on for about half of the book, and many terms used were not explained (I presume these would have been expanded on in Icons), so I struggled to make connections until about half way when everything clicked. The concept is not all that bad, but the plot was frustrating, as with many books involving love triangles. I feel disappointed that there was not much about Tima, for me she was the most interesting character, and her actions felt like the afterthought, once Dol's and Ro's and Lucas' actions were figured out. I did not emotionally connect with the book, which is a shame as t... morehis had real potential. However, with all that being said, the ending was quite unexpected for me, and I did like the way the book neatly tied up all the unanswered questions.
review 2: I wanted this to be better then it was. The ending was great until the epilogue. Which honestly, why have a love triangle in a book where no one is picked by the end. I just don't understand why this character choose to be alone after all the teen angst involved with being with the one they liked best. Overall there wasn't enough development in the relationship for the romance to make sense. So maybe that's why no one was chosen. This book was good, I just wanted more out of this fun sci-fi adventure. less
