review 1: Sometimes we need to be careful what books are recommended to us by the Online Libraries. Somehow, with books that I have recently checked out, the computer thought that this book & I would be compatible. Although it entertained me enough to keep me awake while driving to AZ, it is not a book that I would pick up again. The most interesting part of the book was the description of the plants, their properties, and their powers as they affect mankind. This book reminded me, in that sense, of "Language of Flowers".Lila is seeing a dismal future in her life. After becoming acquainted with exotic plants and their abilities to heal, she ends up on a dangerous journey from Manhattan to the Yucatan Peninsula to find the Nine Plants of Desire. Hopefully the Nine Plants will not onl... morey repay a debt and a favor owed to a friend, but will also give her a chance for a better future.
review 2: This book was a short and super strange read. It's good for some entertainment but the writing just doesn't make sense. The main character is a woman who has whitewashed her life to make things simple, then decides to add some color back in and gets involved with thieves, murderers, and a trip to Mexico. She is apparently someone really special but the book never explains why. She also makes really dumb decisions sometimes. Read at your own risk. less
