review 1: I'll Never Let You Go is a children's book by Marianne Richmond. Edward has been with his Blankie since the day he was born. They are best friends that do everything together. Edward takes Blankie everywhere and Blankie will do anything for Edward. They take care of each other by always being together. A problem arises when it is time for Edward to go off to school and Mama tells Edward he must leave Blankie behind. Edward becomes really sad so Edward and his mom make a list for Blankie to do while he is away. Mama explains to Edward that Blankie will always be in his heart wherever he goes just like Edward is always in her heart. The theme of this book is that people you love are always in your heart whether you are separated or together. This is a good book to read to st... moreudents who have just lost a loved one or had to give up something they loved. I would read this to my elementary school class and have my students think of something love dearly whether it be a person or object. Or I would have them think of something they have lost that they loved dearly. Once they come up with their person or object, I would have them write a story and draw a picture about their favorite memory they have with that person or object.
review 2: Received a copy from NetgalleyI loved this book! The story was about Edward who is attached to his blankie. I have a three year old that is also attached to her blanket. The story follows Edward and how he brings his blanket everywhere he goes. But he is about to go to big boy school so he won't be able to bring it. His mother and himself discuss why he can't bring the blanket to school with him. He just wants to know what the blanket will do while he is gone. The ending when the mother talks about even though we don't have something physically with us doesn't mean it isn't right there with us in our heart. The story was so touching because I did not feel like it was truly about the blanket once I got to the end but how love is stronger than just the physical. It is what matters in the heart. less
