review 1: This was an amazing end to a series I could not put down. From the first book there are all these tantalizing hints that slowly become clearer and clearer until building to a fantastic crescendo in this final book. The mythology that the story pulls from is familiar but changed just enough to keep you unsure exactly if everything is exactly what you think it is. It is only really upon finishing it that all the pieces become so obvious and brilliant. Fantastically written and executed the story doesn't fall into the problem of so much urban fantasy that has no end game planned but instead builds to it with a steadily increasing pace and ever increasing stakes. I can't wait to see more by this author.
review 2: Excellent book...until the last chapter. I hate... more the whole 'he who gives all loses everything BS. I don't like unfinished endings when the author has clearly stated there will not be another book. There are are no answers for the questions that have been being asked for 5.5 books, no explanations of how certain things came about, there is no resolution, just a drift into mist....a story left unfinished. less
