review 1: Weakest book so far of the series. Grey ignores every social rule, doesn't stop to think about consequences and blames others when consequences happen. And then he asks if his arrogance has gotten better: No, it has just changed.But that would've been alright, IF consequences had happened. There were none, though. I was deeply disappointed in the end. It prevented any character growth.Positive things? The world.I'll read the next book and dearly hope it reaches the quality of the first one.
review 2: Connor Grey is a druid with no powers. Three years ago, he fought an elven terrorist and lost his ability to connect with essence, which gives the fey their powers. Now, he walks around with a black mass in his head that no healer can figure out which seems to have... more imbued him with far different powers than those he previously possessed. Connor is called on by the Boston P.D. to help with murders involving the fey; even his good friend, Murdock, now has more essence power than he does, thanks to a another accident. Halloween, or Samhein, is drawing near and the Veil between the worlds is thinning for the first time since Convergence ripped apart the world of Faerie and humans. Connor has to figure out how to keep the dead out of Boston and protect the Seelie Courts from another terrorist attack. This series is getting better and better. less
