review 1: I can only say good things about this book. Although as a mother of 3 boys, it was hard at some points to read. Actually made me feel a little ill for a while, but thats how good the writing is. Just came from Melton's website where I was distressed to read that her publisher has decided not to publish anymore Seal books. So after the next book, which I have yet to read and now may hold onto a while, there won't be anymore SEAL Team 12. In any case, Sean is a great hero and Evie is strong even as she goes through hell. I was a little distressed at the ending, unlike Melton's other books Evie kind of just understands Sean's deep dark secret. There's no real argument about it. But taht does fit with Evie's character. Great book. Highly recommend.
review 2: Go... moret to be kidding me, there was little time for romance because of all the action and subplots. Ellie, well, I liked her well enough except that she sounded way too desperate for Sean. I understood her desperation and was distraught for her children, but - it felt too convinient. I didn't like the fact he was intimate with another woman while Ellie was fighting for her three sons that night. Hell, Sean couldn't even 'help flirting a bit' with another woman during the storyline before he finally realizes he loves Ellie and the kids. Sean was okay, but definitely not one of my favorite alpha heroes. Everything between them felt forced and their love only pushed through because of the kidnapping and everything was wrapped up in a nice little bow. I mean, their was a little bit of the new feelings sprouting for him but it just wasn't developed enough that I was too frustrated with him and Ellie's thoughts of him. 2.5 stars - I'm disappointed. less
