review 1: Love Notes Collection Book 8 (let me add a disclaimer to this....the inside cover of the book lists this as Book 6 in the Love Notes collection but Scottish Legend by Sherry Ann Miller is also listed the same way. So going by what was listed on Marcia Lynn McClure's website I have listed this as Book 8). This is a relatively short story that took about an hour and a half to read. I enjoyed the light romance with a twist of suspense.Amazon Product Description:Samantha Reynolds sets off for college to a Culinary school in Altanta leaving her best friend Sean Cooper behind just when their friendship had started to blossom into something more. Sean also leaves town on a basketball scholarship at a major university. They lose touch of one another until ten years later when Saman... moretha is prominent chef in an Atlanta restaurant. When her mother s untimely death shocks her world. Samantha heads home to Savanna, Georgia where she hopes to lead a calmer life. Instead, she ends up entangled in a mystery her mother was trying to solve. In order to piece together the puzzle Marjorie Reynolds left behind, Samantha turns to her old friend Sean, now a city alderman in whom her mother confided. Together they must learn what Marjorie discovered before Samantha ends up sharing her mother s fate.
review 2: A clean romance and a bit of mystery, but a fast read as well. Love note collection book along with those of Marcia Mcclure's. Sam and Sean were best friends in highschool, but when their paths were going in different directions they knew that their growing friendship couldn't sever their different career paths and so they parted. Both had other relationships but they never were right. 10 years later they meet again when Sam's mother tries to play matchmaker. The message at as the family parted was that Sam could trust Sean if anything happened to her. 3 days later her mother dies of a heart attack, but it wasn't the real culprit, murder was for info she had about Mr. Neilson the city manager who had some shady past that was carrying over and how Marjorie had discovered it and investigated putting herself in danger.Sean comes to Sam's rescue as he protects her from would be harm as they investigate her mother's murder and apprehend the bad guys. In the end they marry and are happy even if it took them 10 years to determine that they highschool friendship was a foundation for they happy future. less
