review 1: This was a cute chapter book mystery featuring a runaway dog, realistic school situations, and some interesting tidbits about life in the White House that kids will enjoy. The only potential problem I see is that kids may give up on this one if they need something that will grab them right away; you have to read a full third of the book before the main characters even know there's something mysterious going on.
review 2: A good mystery for 3rd, 4th, 5th grade readers, depending on the reader. The first daughter, Cammie, is getting used to life in the White House and the fact that her MOM is President of the United States. Then there's her sister, their crazy dog named Hooligan, and the fact that her Dad stays in California during the week for his job. So who... more is the First Lady to her Mom, the President? Her Aunt Jen, mother of her dreaded cousin Nate. And they all live in the White House together. When things, important White House things, start to go missing, Cammie and her sister are on the case. Their first suspect? Nate, of course! less
