review 1: I loved reading about poor little Cassie Griffin. She was widowed one day, fought over by all the town bachelors and married the next. Her first husband left her pregnant. She accepted marriage to Red Dawson, who she thought was the best of the lot. Red was a very good Christian man and hoped to influence Cassie to become a Christian too. You have to read the book to enjoy their blossoming relationship, the lives if their neighbors, & the townsfolk. I love historical fiction like this. Not only does it tell such a good story, but I learn so much about that time in history. This is the first book in the Montana Marriage Trilogy. If you enjoyed this book, you must get the other two.
review 2: The good: I actually really liked this book. I get a little annoyed whe... moren a christian book is "preachy". This book wasn't too preachy. It was a great love story about learning to love and be loved. WARNING SPOILER! The bad: The end. The build up of the end scene with the "villain" was great. The actual scene was pretty lame. I can't see that person changing who they were their whole live and accepting God in a split second. A crazed stalker, abusive man that all of a sudden now knows what love is by Cassie's words. The worst part of all what that they invited him in their house?? ummm some crazy man who was literally stalking me and had come into my house to steal me away months earlier is now invited into my home with my new born child. GIVE ME A BREAK! It just was too unrealistic for me. After all of that, I'll probably read the next book in the series because I loved Belle's character. less
