review 1: Just okay, quite a good story but I have read so many highlander romances that I am now looking for humour or an original plot line, something that stands out. This was just a rehash of lots of others I have read. The sex scenes were boring, found myself flicking through those. I do not mind sex scenes in my books but like them to catch my imagination, these did not. Would be a good book for someone who was new to Highlander romances but as I said, just ok for me.
review 2: I chose this book because of the wonderful cover and also because the story seemed to be interesting.I indeed found the story interesting though I can't give it more than 3 stars because of certain aspects.First, I thought that the author would develop the plot a bit more. Now that I am fini... moreshed with the book, I am a bit disappointed because I think it lacks excitement. The plot is too simple! I would love to see some drama like some sort of plot to ruin the relationship between the hero, Connor, and the heroine, Brina or some major unknown enemy trying to destroy the protagonists or, I don't know, jealous ex-lovers.This would sure make everything more enticing!Also, it was a bit boring to see Brina's stubborness taken to the extreme. In the beginning, the woman seem to know only these words "Take me back to my father. I must honor his will and be a nun!"*Sigh* There were times I was totally exasperated! I was like "Calm yourself, woman! You obviously don't want to be a nun nor do you have the personality to be a good one! Besides, you are totally craving Connor's touch! You want him!"But ok, apart from that, the characters were fairly likeable and the story good. less
