review 1: This book has it all. There is romance, suspense, steamy sex scenes, hot alpha male and one roller coaster ride that you want to take. I actually won a copy of this book and I'm so happy that I did because I have found another author in excited to read. One thing about this book is that the story is told in a third person view and to be able to hear what Annie is thinking and Shane in the same chapter was great. I will be honest in that it did take me a couple chapters to adjust to this but once I did, was very thrilled with it. I know we had our HEA with Annie and Shane but I am excited about reading Matt's story in the next book. We had such a great group of supporting characters that I hope to hear more from them.
review 2: 3 1/2-4 stars. Sweet story. Good
... more in the "sweet, hard working h, who never has a one night stand, but has sex with the H who is a perfect stranger--and a H who spends a good part of the beginning of the book with inner dialogue of how he is not good enough for the h, but can't stay away" sort of way. VERY much in the instant love/lust department. I liked the author's writing style, and thought it was easy to follow. Characters were good, and did not act "immature" like I have been finding with new authors I've been trying lately. H was a super sweet, possessive alpha male type. Definitely more on the erotic side, given the number of intimate scenes, but had a nice suspense plot too. Easy to read, and didn't make me think to much. I really did like it even though I felt it was super unrealistic. Part of this is the fact the characters characters were the WORST undercover detectives I ever saw. Not only did they talk OPENLY about being undercover, they could not seem to figure out basic stuff. So I give this one almost 4 stars on pure entertainment value alone. I will probably read more from the series as books are released. less

This book dragged for me through most of the middle. I slogged through, and I liked it overall.

This book is darker and has more suspense then the Fairfield Series but still just as good.
