review 1: Emma is an amazing independent woman. She also has had a pretty trying life. When she was in college she was called home because her mother and sister passed away in a tragic accident, leaving Emma in charge of Laurie. They made do for themselves and took care of each other. Emma decided she didn't want to be away from Laurie an longer so she decided to move to Fairfield. Jake is a police officer and lives with his mom. He is amazing at taking care of his mom and would do anything for her, but he is missing a piece of his heart. They all go to dinner at Smokey's and Jake notices a beautiful woman that he didn't recognize. Laurie introduces Jake to her aunt Emma, the beautiful woman. Jake feels possessive over her and doesn't want anyone messing with her. They have a cooko... moreut at Laurie and Rob's house and Jake went total caveman on her. Emma has been taking care of herself since she was young and she doesn't need a man now. There is an incident that happens to her and Jake is terrified for her. Something happens to her and she doesn't know if she's gonna make it out alive. Will love be strong enough to hold them together? This book is full of compassion. I was hooked from the 2nd page.
review 2: What a great book! Emma missed much of her early adult years due to a family tragedy and raised her niece on her own. Finally Emma moves to her niece's town where she meets Jake. Can Jake get any hotter?!?! Both Jake & Emma are instantly attracted to one another however a few mildly funny miscommunications get sorted out and they in time realize they are made for one another. A definite must read!!! less
