review 1: I really liked it! It had a lot of funny and cute parts. My only thing I wish was different would be more moments with Fred and Thomas. At the end of the book there was an epilogue which I was hoping would have more with them but it ended up being more filler with her and her friend, which was funny and everything but not what I had hoped for, you know? Other than that...very cute and funny. You would like it if you like romantic humor and a character who has a lot of sass, cares for ppl but acts like she doesn't, and has somewhat of a temper/bitchiness lol normally I might not like that type of character because I can't understand them but the way she writes it makes her relationships with everyone seem amusing and the way she reacts to situations that would normally be s... moreerious becomes funny. So all in all, it turns out to be a pretty good book, in my opinion.
review 2: This is an omnibus of all three Fred the Mermaid stories. Fred is a mermaid, or half-mermaid anyway, and is a marine biologist working at the NEA feeding fish. Her best friend is Jonas, a very straight, but very metrosexual, guy who is probably the only person who can give as well as he can get when it comes to Fred's temper. In the first book, Fred must figure out what's with the weird toxin in the bay with the help of her gorgeous fellow marine biologist, Thomas. Well, really they were ordered to find out what's wrong by Artur, High Prince of the Black Sea, an Undersea Folk. (What the mer-people call themselves.) In the second book, Fred is called to a private retreat where Undersea Folk from all over the world are meeting to determine if they should reveal themselves to land-walkers. In the third, Fred helps Artur and his father find out why so many Undersea Folk have 'disappeared' from Artur's father's telepathic notice. All those plots sound well and good, but honestly, they took up a tiny portion of each story. Which isn't a problem for me, as I was much more interested in Fred's sarcastic interactions with Jonas, Thomas, and Artur. So even though the plots really don't seem to be the focus of the books, it works because the side-plots of Fred's life are so fast-paced and witty and fun to read. I think I giggled through most of the book.Though honestly, we could have done without the sex scenes. It's not like they were crucial to the book, and a fade-to-black would have been much more appropriate. That, all the ridiculous, unnecessary amount of cursing is what keeps this book from being a solid five stars. less

Not a big Aquaman fan. But the heroine does manage to redeem the series with her amusing rudeness.
