review 1: This was an amazing read! MaryLu Tyndall has once again proven her place in the publishing world. This latest work centers around the War of 1812, and asks the question: what would you do if your life was saved by the enemy? You fall in love with both main characters, as you watch them find their own love and faith in the troubled times. The writing is so gripping that you find yourself lost in the words, and are never able to put it down. Well worth making the time to read.
review 2: Surrender the Night is the second book in Surrender to Destiny. I did not read these in order. This looked like the book in the series I would like the least, so I skipped it. But, as usual, MaryLu Tyndall hooks you and you just can’t walk away. Rose and Alex had a great s
... moretory line. I couldn’t wait to see their relationship blossom and grow. They had wonderful chemistry and dialogue. Rose’s uncle Mr. Drummond was one of my favorite side characters in any of Tyndall’s books. He was the quiet strong, knowing type. Tyndall has a magical way of incorporating actual events into her fiction. It is seamless. She is simply an excellent writer. I am an avid historical fiction reader, but this time period (Revolutionary period) and sea life is my least favorite. Tyndall is such an amazing author that she has me hooked on places and times I don’t even have much interest in! She is just that good. This is a book, along with the others in this series, will leave you will a feel of completion. It is a Christian fiction where she integrates faith and love into a beautiful story. I highly recommend spending time enjoying Rose and Alex and the “Tyndall Magic”! less
