review 1: I liked this story, up until the end. I found it to be a quick, easy, and engaging read. However, the writing was only mediocre. There were enough errors in the text to be distracting, and I had to read several sentences over again to try to ascertain the intended meaning. I also felt that Mr. Shaw handled the graphic nature of the material very well in some places, but backed away from some of the truly nasty bits. Although I enjoyed this book, I am not motivated to try another from the same author.
review 2: Well I have to say Matt Shaw really got me this time! Wow! Just wow! This is true horror and gets downright gory but at the same time the story is just so well written that I couldn't help but truly feel for the main character and all that she suffered. ... moreThose men treated her like she was nothing, not a human being. I wanted revenge! I love Matt Shaw's work and this is definitely one of the best in my opinion. less
