The Acts of Caine
review 1: Don't take me wrong, I liked this book, I really did. The dialogues (or more often monologues) were short of amazing. Even the whole horse-witch stuff that was at first boring, made sense and was kind of touching. There are chapters I will love till the end of time as well as the character of Caine/Hari/Johnnie/Dominic/whoeverthef*ck. But as a whole - the book was too chaotic, too confusing and too long. Hence only 3*.
review 2: Unlike the previous stories, Caine's Law is far more nonliner plot, but I found it enjoyable all the same. In particular, I liked seeing Caine genuinely building some positive relationships in his life and treating his friends with actual respect. The introspection on Caine's life and legend can get heavy at times, but it's still a go
... moreod read and the climax is one big fight after another. It's Caine vs. the Gods, but in a way we didn't expect. less

One of the best fantasy series I have read. Dark, brutal and very cool. I recommend it :)

Someone described this as the best sci-fi fantasy series you've never read; I agree.

The perspective of this book is insane, but it is my kind of insane so it was great.
