review 1: I love both of these books and just got done rereading them again. I like Betsy's Wedding the best because Betsy is true to herself in that book but in Betsy and the Great World she tries to change herself to be who she is not. Maud Hart Lovelace is a great author who wrote the heartwarming Betsy-Tacy series that makes you feel as if you have met all of the characters. One of the best books and author by far.
review 2: I just read the whole Betsy/Tacy series for the first time in the last few weeks and, although I liked them, I did not realize until I came to the end how much a part of my life they had become. These last two novels are my favorites I am a traveler and loved the descriptions of early 20th century travel as experienced by Betsy. I really want to ... morego to the Azores and Madiera now, except after a century I suspect that they have changed greatly. I also loved the way she showed the beginnings of married life in all it's complexity. less
