Ophelia Wylde Paranormal Mystery
review 1: I attended a lecture by the author on the history of spiritualism and purchased this book after that. The book draws from historic events to add an extra layer to the narrative. A strong female lead drives the book, though I would have liked to see her maintain her strength through the book and not have an inevitable love interest introduced. The ending seemed abrupt, but I am looking forward to the next book.
review 2: After having plowed through The Goldfinch, I wanted something short and fairly light-hearted. I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped I would. Some parts were kind of cute and I liked the main character, Ophelia Wylde, well enough. There were a few passages that were more overtly violent that I would have preferred. Also, there were
... moresome glaring grammatical errors. The raven that quoted Poe and was named Eddie was kind of fun and of course he assisted in saving the day in the end. But in general, this book is between a 2 and a 3 star rating as far as I am concerned. I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone other than someone who really loves mysteries with a paranormal element. less

I would have enjoyed this one more if it had more of a humorous element to it.
