review 1: I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review. Also thanks to Harlequin for including our blog in their monthly themes!!Sakis doesn't trust people. His father saw to that after the disaster he left for his family. He trusts his brothers and his assistant Brianna Moneypenny. When things go wrong with an oil tanker from his company and there is disaster everywhere, Moneypenny is her usual calm and collected self. It soothes him, it also shows him the attraction he's been fighting for their whole working relationship is still shimmering on the edges. He just doesn't know if he can keep fighting it or if he wants to. Briannna Moneypenny keeps her exterior cool and professional. She can't let anyone see in to her past. She has reminders that she can't let people clo... morese. You can't trust anyone, she's learned that the hard way. When she finally lets down the wall, the past causes problems and it may be the end of the best thing that has ever happened to her. This book was a little hard to get in to but once I was involved I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to know more about Sakis and I reallllllly wanted to know about Brianna's past! Great book and once I could devote all the time I wanted I inhaled it! Check it out and write a review to show your love for the book and the author!!
review 2: Though this book was somewhat predictable, once I delved into the plot, I still enjoyed it.Brianna was in Sakis’ employ for 18 months, trying to prove her worth and invaluable qualities to make sure she had job security. She needed stability. Reaching that meant proving she was the best at what she did. Only Brianna has a secret in her past she fears will not only ruin her reputation, but the security she has built. Plus, how was she to know long hours in her boss’s presence would ignite feelings for him she shouldn't be having.Sakis didn't plan on lusting after his executive assistant. Especially after what happened in the past. They are dealing with a crisis. Constantly around each other, he catches a glimpse of the woman beneath the poised secretary that makes him want to see more. Going against the grain, he pursues with sweet gestures as the heat builds between them. One gesture changed something between them and the passion ignites. Only sometimes secrets don't always stay hidden, but love always wins in the end.Like I said, it was a bit predictable after you figured out the plot. Yet, I still enjoyed Sakis being the alpha male with his sweet side coming through at times. Brianna, I battled with a bit. I could see it her way and I liked how she got rebellious, but there were times when she frustrated me. The slow build up was enjoyable. I have a weakness for boss/ secretary romances which is why when I saw this on Netgalley, I grabbed it up. I think Blake hit all the points I wanted in a Harlequin romance. Even though I battled with Brianna's character, I found both likeable in the end and I was able to see it from both sides. I really liked reading this and seeing how both characters feel and think throughout the book. So all in all, I enjoyed it less
