review 1: Meckenzie and her siblings Taggart and Kellan are blonder than you, prettier than you, richer than you, smarter than you, fitter than you and oh yeah, are magical fairy royalty. The majority of this story is comprised of:A)the triplets being given various jewelry, each more beautiful and magical than the next,B)Meckenzie verbally "sparring" with the hot mysterious dude who just transfered to her school and is obsessed with getting to know her, andC)various characters telling the triplets how awesome their new magical powers are.I have no problem with wish-fullfillment fiction written to scrath the author's id. But this doesn't even have that energy going for it. It's just plain bad.
review 2: What I liked about this book:the concept this novel is based on.it
... morewas a YA novel without any love triangles.the teenagers were shown to have a normal relationship with at least one parent.the mythology that came along with the land of Aquinas.the bad guys weren't demonic evil things, they were fae too and had a perfectly good reason to be bad-they wanted Aquinas. What I did not like:the book dragged a bit at the end.the author told us what was happening rather than showing us.I think this is a good book for kids in their early teens. less

A fast read. Liked the "parallel world" thing. Liked the characters- they described very well

I liked it enough to buy the second book in the trilogy, editing mistakes aside.

The concept was very good, though the prose could have been better.
