review 1: The story took too long to pick up. It wasn't until the very end did I really find the book interesting. The whole idea was neat but I didn't feel that it was pulled off well. There were too many twists and turns and plot twists. And the writing was very disjointed--rambling, horrible punctuation and I didn't understand what happened in the second to last chapter, which I felt that way about most of the book.
review 2: I liked the beginning, and then just began to progressively become less interested. By the end I really didn't care what was happening anymore. It's supposed to be about the Norse culture, but I think that was lost pretty quickly, and even when it was being dealt with, I'm not sure it was all that accurate. ... moreally get the feeling that it was authentic and not based off of movie portrayals. Okay, maybe that was harsh. I really just did not like this book by the end. less
