review 1: The story took too long to pick up. It wasn't until the very end did I really find the book interesting. The whole idea was neat but I didn't feel that it was pulled off well. There were too many twists and turns and plot twists. And the writing was very disjointed--rambling, horrible punctuation and I didn't understand what happened in the second to last chapter, which I felt that way about most of the book.
review 2: I liked the beginning, and then just began to progressively become less interested. By the end I really didn't care what was happening anymore. It's supposed to be about the Norse culture, but I think that was lost pretty quickly, and even when it was being dealt with, I'm not sure it was all that accurate. Superficially maybe, but I didn't re... moreally get the feeling that it was authentic and not based off of movie portrayals. Okay, maybe that was harsh. I really just did not like this book by the end. less
