review 1: I have had this book since 2013 and never read it before, I was actually going to read another book in the series first but decided to start with book one not even knowing i owned it! I am so mad I didnt read this book sooner. I loved it! It was a refreshing book, I was in a book slump and this picked me right up! I love Nick and Delilah and their group of friends. I also like the fact there wasn't a cliff hanger and there was a beginning, middle and end to the story. Some books you finally get to the really good part and BAM the book is over, not with this book. I loved this book so much I had to dive right into the next one!
review 2: I loved the storyline for Hey There, Delilah. Delilah, who considers herself to be frumpy, has to find a new job because she c
... moreatches her boyfriend cheating on her with her boss, on the day of her birthday no less! The following day, she interviews at the law firm where Nick works at. Nick decides to hire her because Delilah appears very competent and qualified, not mention outwardly unattractive, which is a bonus because he doesn't want to cross any unprofessional lines with her and has had trouble preventing this in the past with his secretaries because he's a no-committment kind of guy. Although Delilah is instantly attracted to him physically, he is mostly impressed by her skills and her personality. In the meantime, Nick continues to play the field and avoid anything personal, including weekend visits to Club M where he can hook up anonymously. Delilah is a beautiful person, inside and out, and when she does dress up, she is easily comparable to other gorgeous women, but she is so self-conscious that she doesn't fully realize this. However, she has caught someone's eye at Club M and they meet regularly every weekend, texting each other during the week while getting to know one other on a personal level as well as becoming acquainted physically at the club. The chemistry is definitely there, but during the week when Delilah and Nick are at work, the signals are confusing. This is told in both POVs and I loved both characters. Delilah has a lot of spunk and bite to her despite her insecurities and she isn't a cowering wallflower or afraid to say what's on her mind. She's very caring and considerate and she works hard. Nick also works hard but he isn't used to caring or being cared about. He's not insecure but he doesn't take responsibility for his mistakes. However, he sees Delilah for who she is on the inside and he appreciates her as a person before he actually views her as potential dating material. And when Nick sets his mind to something, he is very persistent and persuasive (he is a lawyer after all). When Nick rises up to the challenge of actually being a relationship type of guy, he really is all in and becomes the boyfriend package. Delilah also has a few surprises of her own, the way she takes charge of a situation and loses her shyness suits her well. They had some really witty banter and I enjoyed how their developing connection was something deeper than just obvious lust. less
