review 1: Steel Lily is a YA book who's main character is a 15 year old girl with a lot of spunk. This is a dystopian book where those who survived radiation live in Domes. All isn't as it seems. The characters were likable but a some a little flat. There is a teenage romance, no sex and some mild swearing. I liked it, and will eventually read the next in the series. I wouldn't recommend for younger than 16 due to the language.
review 2: An interesting view of a dystopian future seemingly wrecked by world war, Steel Lily teeters between sci-fi thriller and YA eyelash-batter. While the story is fairly interesting through about the first two-thirds, it does devolve eventually into the same formula so many dystopian YA novels follow. Also, Curd often struggles for her thesa... moreurus, using the word "chiseled" enough times in one paragraph to make you wonder just whose abs she studied for her "research". It was a fast read, and for a free Kindle book, I definitely feel like it was a pleasant diversion. less
