review 1: As the blurb indicates, Jules’ sister dies during childbirth and leaves him with his niece to raise as a single parent. This could have definitely been a very emotional story, but that’s actually what was lacking for me – emotion. I don’t believe Jules expressed any real grief over the death of his sister, and later, when he was trying to gain Mark’s affection, his actions and comments were just so mechanical. Even later, I didn’t feel any major anxiety when the baby ended up in the hospital – just oh well, it is what it is. I enjoyed the storyline, but the characters and emotional connection left a bit to be desired for me.
review 2: Nice, but I didn't really like the MC's much.I understood why Mark was upset with Jules with how he said what
... morehe did, but to just up and leave without talking about it or at least telling him why and if they had been such good friends he should have at least done that and known that Jules might have had a difficult time expressing himself in a foreign language. The typical trope was used for the resolution, but that's ok, you have to use something I guess. But I just didn't like how Jules cleared the air with Mark and how it was resolved. But, it's free and cute ! less

It was a nice story, but I found the writing style rather aloof and detached.
