review 1: 3.5 would be fair. The story was entertaining. At times I found myself skipping a paragraph or two to keep my interest. The mystery at times became a little sloppy, but it still wanted to finish it. Kenny was the most complex character in my opinion. Some of the interaction between characters (i.e., mother-daughter) were interesting and made the read more enjoyable. I'm glad I read it.
review 2: I don't normally read books that include paranormal aspects to it, but this book will whisk you away before you know what's happened. The depth of every one of her characters, the "don't judge a book by its cover" aspect to people is so very realistic, that you feel you know these people and want to know what happens to them and find yourself wishing you could magica
... morelly jump into the book and become involved in Beth's quest to solve the mysteries that keep cropping up. What a satisfying story and I so hope Meira continues to bring us more like it in the future! less
