review 1: An interesting twist on Angels... Raea a teenage girl suddenly discovers that she grows wings overnight. It was painful to grown and shrunk her wings. Raea’s mother also had wings, and before she died she left Raea with a crystal pendant, called the Starfire. She also shrunk Raea’s wings and left her at her aunt so that Raea could grow up between humans. Raea and her mother were from Inar’Ahben and the Shirukan was after them to kill them. Raea has the same blue green markings on her hands, as her mother. Raea discovers that a boy at School, Elis, is the Dark Angel that everyone talks about. He also has the same markings on his hands. Pallin, who works for the Shirukan, deliberately came to earth to befriend Raea, to get the Starfire... and to kill Raea and the rest ... moreof the Inar’Ahben’s angels. I am looking forward to reading Broken Wings Book 2 of the Starfire Angels.
review 2: There are many parts of a book which must be present for the story to work. In this book the missing element is with the main character. Her complete lack of emotion when her entire world collapses around her, when she finds out she is not human, and when she is raped left the story empty and void. Not worth the bother of reading the rest of the series, even though I did like the other characters. less
