A Magical Dressmaking Mystery
review 1: Harlow's life is complete. She has her dressmaking, her family complete with a ghost and her romantic relationship with Will. She has it all. Including a murder to solve. Gracie, Will's daughter, has asked her to prove her boyfriend didn't kill his father. It's lucky that she is charmed. Thanks to Butch Cassidy, an ancestor who threw a coin in a fountain and got his wish. Can she find who did it? I loved Killing Notion! Melissa Bourbon has written an entertaining and solid story. This cozy has surprising twists that keep you guessing. I didn't know who did the deed until the very end. The author brings her characters to life. I felt that I knew Harlow and the people of Bliss. I was effortlessly drawn into their story. Harlow is a compassionate and caring woman. I loved her... more tender romance with Will. It felt so right. The secondary characters added so much to A Killing Notion especially Meemaw, her ghostly grandmother. I loved that touch of magic. This is an excellent cozy. It's one of my Keepers.
review 2: As always, this is by far one of my favorite series. If I could take a vacation there, I would go to Bliss and have Harlow make me a dress. I had my suspicions early on of the murderer, but didn't really make the full connection until a bit later and loved the story line. Love the characters, Will is still Benjamin Bratt in my mind. I wish Melissa could write a little faster because I don't like waiting for the next book to come out! less
